Compliance, in plain English.
Cannabis packaging regulations are complex and they change. We track them so you don't have to. These guides cover what you need to know to stay compliant in Canada and the US.
What you need to know
Non-compliant packaging can cost you your license
Cannabis regulators in both Canada and the United States take packaging compliance seriously. A single non-compliant shipment can trigger a recall, a license suspension, or fines that dwarf the cost of the packaging itself. The most common violations are missing child-resistant certification, missing tamper-evident seals, incorrect labeling, and using packaging that does not meet state or provincial opacity requirements.
CropPak builds compliance into every product from the start. We do not treat it as an add-on or a separate SKU. Every product we make ships with the relevant compliance documentation: 16 CFR 1700.20 test certificates from a CPSC-accepted lab, ASTM D3475 classification records, FDA food-contact compliance letters, and Health Canada plain packaging compliance where required. State-specific certification is available for California, Colorado, New York, Michigan, and other regulated markets.
State-by-state cannabis packaging requirements
Cannabis packaging requirements vary by state. CropPak builds to all of them, including California, Colorado, New York, and Michigan. Child-resistant to 16 CFR 1700.20, tamper-evident, opaque where required, with state-specific compliance symbols and labeling.
